I remember the first time I saw the Elephant man --- in class in the 8th grade or something. I remember everyone laughing when he was being tortured and prodded by the cruel peoples. I laughed also. I think it's because he shreiked so shrill and cried...oh how he cried.

I am not an elephant...;) I rememeber the film when I was a kid too-watching it with my dad as a kid. Sometimes laughing is the only way to look the horrific in the eye-& of course I don't mean him, more what he experienced.

Fuck i love the Elephant man, beautiful movie. The freak show still gives me chills. If you see a drawing in the near future of Mr Merrick then its cos of this inspiration. Great piece.
